Sony BDV-F500 Blu-ray Home Cinema System |
Sony |
Bring total entertainment to your living room with the Sony BDV-F500. This 2.1-channel surround sound system not only boasts stunning slimline minimalist looks, but also features Blu-ray disc playback, DVD upscaling, Sony’s award winning XrossMediaBar on-screen menu and Internet streaming, allowing access to a wide range of on-demand content. And we almost forgot to mention this baby’s 3D ready too, via a future software update. If you really want a complete home entertainment experience in a simple package, the Sony BDV-F500 is ideal. It uses two ultra slim desktop or wall mountable speakers and a vertical main unit with LED illumination, plus S-Force Front Surround technology and 350W of S-Master digital amplification, to deliver superb virtual surround from a room-friendly design. BRAVIA Internet Video gives you instant access via the Ethernet port and your broadband router to online content such as catch-up TV services, and you can also find your favourite internet videos from on-demand websites like YouTube and Dailymotion. The BDV-F500 is also WLAN-ready to access content without wires - just add a USB WiFi dongle (available separately) and you can connect to your network at the touch of a button. The Entertainment Database Browser feature uses Gracenote™ technology and your internet connection to browse details like actor and production information from your Blu-ray discs. If you own an iPhone or iPod touch, you can even control the player using a free application that can be downloaded from the Apple App store. The application allows an iPhone/iPod touch to function as a remote control that includes the ability to access a Blu-ray disc’s details such as jacket artwork, actor, and production information as well as search for additional video clips online. The BDV-F500 is compatible with Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA®) devices, the model allows you to wirelessly share digital photos, music, and video media from your PC using your home network. You can play your iPod or WALKMAN MP3 player through it using a USB cable. Although slim and beautifully designed, the BDV-F500 produces exceptional visuals with 1080p Full HD and 24p True Cinema video outputting a stunning film-like image, just as the director intended (when connected to compatible TVs). Deep Colour technology also provides smoother images and more colour variation when connected to a compatible TV. And with Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital True HD and DTS-HD supported, the audio reproduction is just as involving and high definition as the picture. There’s no need to throw away your standard definition DVDs: the Sony BDV-F500’s upscale feature processes them to give a high definition look, so you’ll still enjoy viewing your existing movie collection. You might even revisit some of the old classics you haven’t watched in a while! |
